Giving Back

On Christmas Morning, I helped my Photographer Mike Chase and his family with their 7th Annual Breakfast for the Homeless that they started. What an amazing experience it was. It was Down Town Santa Rosa. Standing in the cold for about 6 hours, I thought I was going to freeze to death. Then a homeless man asked me if we had any sleeping bags. I broke down in tears thinking how cold I was, and imagining that he did not have a bed or blankets to keep him warm. WOW what an eye opener! It is interesting how we take things for granted. We gave food, coats, gloves, and socks. We raffled off sleeping bags, backpacks and bikes. I hope that next year there are enough sleeping bags donated so that everyone will have one. Next year, I think it would be nice to have Port-a-Potties , Sinks and maybe even Portable Showers donated for the day.
